The Red Maids Society

Founders’ Day

Fri 19 November 2021, 8.30 - 11.30 am

Seating restrictions for the Commemoration Service in the Cathedral this year mean that the School is unable to offer tickets to Society members.

However, some of us ‘old girls’ will be toasting our toes in front of a roaring fire in our usual haunt, The Commercial Rooms in Corn Street that morning. Why not join us between 8.30 and 9.30 for breakfast? Anything from a cappuccino and brioche to a full English breakfast to fortify us for the walk down Baldwin Street to College Green, accompanying the girls as they march from Bristol Bridge. Great photo opportunity.

And if breakfast is too early for you, why not come to see the march at 10.00, then whilst the service is taking place, have a coffee at Woodes, which has been at the bottom of Park Street since 1966, or in the Swallow Royal Hotel? Or you could wander back up Baldwin Street or Corn Street and across Castle Park and the new curvy bridge for lunch at Bocabar in Finzels Reach, site of the old Georges Brewery.
