The Red Maids Society

Data protection and privacy policy

New General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) came into effect within the EU on 25th May 2018, expanding the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed online. The way we collect and protect your personal information is important to the Red Maids’ Society.

The Red Maids’ Society currently keeps your membership information on a secure encrypted database. This information is used by the Society to send out newsletters and emails to members, to keep you up to date with news about the Society, Redmaids’ High School and Bristol, and to publicise events and year group reunions.

We will not share your information with any third party apart from those connected with the maintenance and security of the database and website. We do share this membership information with the Redmaids’ High Development Office for the purposes of general mailing to former pupils and the security of this shared information is covered by the Redmaids’ High School’s own GDRP and Privacy policy.

We keep your personal information active for the entire length of your life membership. In the event of the resignation or death of a member, that record will be archived for our historical records.

We will not publish your full postal address, email or telephone number in our magazine unless you request this or give permission for us to do so.

Any member organising a peer group reunion can ask us to contact that group on her behalf and to pass her e-mail on to them.

Any member or non-member trying to trace old friends can write to them c/o the Society and we will forward the letter or email.

If you wish find out what information we hold about you, update your details or the way that we communicate with you, please go to the Contact page on our website, email or write to The Red Maids’ Society, Redmaids’ High School, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol BS9 3AW.
